Roger Federer is taking part in his 20th consecutive Grand Slam semi final in attempt to win the one GS that has until now eluded him.

With the king of clay (Nadal) out Federer's task has (supposedly) been made a touch easier - if he wins the tournament he will equal Sampras' record of 14 grand slam wins.

Nadal has just pulled out of the queens club tournament and is now a doubt for Wimbledon.

Federer's quest to be labelled the best ever would be hard to argue against if he does claim the French open
------

I bet he's going to lose his semi final now after this thread,lo

If only he could have beaten Nadal in the final. My money will be on Soderling though, because that is where the value is.

Ye if he had beaten Nadal in the final then that would have been something - but he cant do anything about that.

I was inching Fed all the way and he got through eventually.

I'm backing Fed - but then I'm not putting on any money on it...

Glad he won it, imo he has cemented his position's as the best ever in the game. He is also a model professional, and others could only dream to be like him.
