The passing of tonights game between ourselves n A Madrid means Drogba is now available for the next MMC game.

Now I am not going to defend his actions that lead to the ban, but would like to point out the referee that night is continuing his career at the same level as before - Nothing has changed, so we can only think UEFA are happy with his performance that night.

I hope we save Drogba from the other 3 games to make a point (Small I know) that UEFA's punnishment ment very little to the club.

As little as the performance of one of UEFA's hand picked officials pathetic display that decided the so called worlds premier club knock out competition, obviously means to them.

It's hard to imagine that the referee has not suffered any consequences to for his shocking performance that night. But referees never really pay dearly for their mistakes, even in the Premier league they just get a game or two demotion to the Championship.

Drogba's ban, which I thought was remarkable lenient, was never going to cause Chelsea any trouble. Nor should it trouble any good team at this stage of the competition to lose one top player for the first three games of the competition. Would be different if the ban started at the knock out stage or even the quarter final

Personally I think Drogba should have been banned for the whole competition, for a year. That would have been a fitting punishment.

That said, he wasnt banned for nothing, and the referee should have been punished likewise. He should have banned from the Champions League for a year, or until he can prove he is capable of reffing at that level.

Personally, I have no idea what the refs punishment was, or where he is reffing now, because I do not pay attention to those details. Hopefully, he is not in charge of important games in the near future.
