Untied have always bled young players, though not as many as last night's game. Ferguson probably thought the line up was good enough to get a draw, which they knew after the result in Moscow earlier that day would have been enough to win the group. United had nearly all the possession and enough chances to get a result, so I don't have any problem with the line up.
Other than getting the the second leg at home, the last couple of years there has not been much advantage to wining the group, there seems to be as many top sides finish second as there are that finish first in the groups.
As for the game against Wolfsburg if Moscow win in Turkey, United can lose and finish top of the group. So who knows what line up he will put out for that one.
The Ronaldo money has me concerned, everyone associated with the club says the money's there to spend if Ferguson wants to, but who really knows. It's true that there is no value out there, because Ronaldo went for 80mil, every good player is being quoted at 50 million plus when there is nobody available that's worth more than 30 million, other than perhaps David Villa. United will have to spend that Ronaldo money soon, I don't really expect much in January, but if they don't spend the bulk of it next summer the fans will revolt.
As for the debt, I don't think anyone at the club other than the fans are all that concerned. I don't claim to know anything about high finance, but I don't think the Glazier's have ever had any attention of paying off the debt. The club today is worth double what the Glazier's paid for it and even if you take off the debt they are still ahead of where they were when the bought United. With the way the value of the club is increasing in a few years they could sell off 25-30% of the club and pay off the debt. Though Hicks and Gillette are finding that a little more tricky then they expected, but United is a much more marketable brand than Liverpool.
