The draw is being held on Thursday. For the most part the Pots will look like this. There still could be some changes if any of the unseeded teams advance from the play-off.

Pot 1

Inter
Barcelona
United
Chelsea
Arsenal
Milan
Bayern
Lyon

Pot 2

Werder Bremen
Real Madrid
Roma
Shaktar
Benfica
Valencia
Marseille
Panathinaikos

Pot 3

Spurs
Rangers
Ajax
Schalke
Basel
Sporting Braga
FC Copenhagen
Spartak Moscow

Pot 4

Hapoel Tel-Aviv
FC Twente
Rubin Kazan
AJ Auxerre
CFR Clurj
Partizan Belgrade
MŠK Žilina
Bursapor

There could be some tough groups with the likes of and Spurs in Pot Three and and FC Twente in Pot Four.

Turned out well for all English clubs I think - even Spurs have a fighting chance to get through their group - Arsenal the weakest group by far.

The thing that striked me as the draw progressed - This has to be the weakest CL for depth for a long time.

I have to agree that the group stages of this competition is getting weaker, partly due to Platini's effort to get more champions from minor leagues into the group stages. But some of the old power houses aren't as strong as previous years. AC Milan has gotten old, Lyon are not the same team that was wining all those French titles, Man United are weaker than when they won it and Inter now have Benitez to deal with. The Champions league this season will not really see good football until the knockout stage begins.

I think group A will be exciting, as the teams are SIMILAR in quality....Inter will probably take it home but Werder Bremen, Tottenham and FC Twente are quite level, saying that Tottenham could even come top, depends whether they are firing them home when it counts!

Trying to pick the two teams from advancing from each group for Tick's swindle really shows how weak this competition is this year. After the top seeds, not many strong teams stand out making it hard to pick the second place team in many of these groups.

Underlines again the need for a Midweek Euro league.
