See the 2nd goal last night? Plain cheating by the English boy Defoe.

It was the killing goal, the second that stopped the tie.

I ask you, is Defoes hand ball any different to Thierry Henrys?

Nope, only difference is the scale of the game....not that it makes it any better for Defoe! Just he gets lucky because no-one will care next week whereas Ireland will care for the next four years!

Spurs going on to win 4-0 will take some of the sting out o the reaction, but Young Boys are still in it at 1-0, the second goal effectively killed off the tie. Putting Spurs though the the Champions League proper is worth big bucks and you can make an argument that the Champions League isn't really that much smaller of a stage than the World cup, it's certainly better football.

I didn't mean in terms of quality of football, I mean more people watch the World Cup, either way, he is English and so it will be swept under the mat, not proud of it but it's what will happen!

No different but again its the referees job to get the decision right. Defoe might not have meant to handball it, could have been just bringing it down on his chest.

Its obvious that these extra officials behind the goals make no difference, just two more officials to miss the obvious incidents adding to the farce that is video technology.

Should be run like it is in cricket. Defoe handballs it, goes through and scores. The defender KNOWS its handball and quickly speaks to his captain who asks the referee to refer the incident to the 4th official. 1 minute later and its all cleared up. Free kick and the right decision is made.

The only negative for video technology that I have really heard, is that it will slow down our game.

So I ask you, is it worth slowing down the game to make sure decisions are right?

(And it cant slow the game more than Pedersons throw ins......yawn)
