In a way this was identical to Rome, a two goal defeat. Barcelona keep the ball and we couldn't get it off them. I have always felt that games are won or lose in the midfield and every time you looked up it was Xavi to Iniesta to Messi, our midfielders hardly ever had the ball.

I don't know what the answer is to beating Barcelona, do you park the bus and kick them off the pitch? But that's not the way United play and we don't really want to see that. It's frustrating as all hell but United were never really in this game and as much as it hurts to say Barcelona were the better team on the day and it could have been a lot worse than 3-1.

I am gutted that we lost but after the first 10 minutes I never had the feeling that United were going to win. Congratulations to Barcelona, they do play beautiful football if you let them. It will be interesting to see how teams line up against them next year, because it doesn't look like you can go head to head with them and win.

I think physical teams match up better against Barcelona. Inter Milan beat them last year and I believe Chelsea or man city would fare better.

It doesn't feel like it now ( to be honest the amount of alcohol I have had I don't feel much and it's only 6pm so I have not really begun to drink yet) But it's been a good year. I didn't expect to win anything this year, so first in the Premier and runner up in the Champions league is a good year.

I dont want to lay it on too thick, but there is very little chance of United beating Barcelona using the tactics they did.

I feel Sir Alex learnt nothing from Wenger who also allowed Barcelona to have the ball n toy with them. The only way United could beat them is in a shoot out ~ end to end football, very along the lines of the 2nd half at the new highbury this season when Arsenal went for broke and came out winning the second half. Barcelona's weakness is their defence.

I appreciate you accepting Chelsea would fair better against them ~ in all the times we have played them over the last number of years, they have never toyed with us as they have with both United n Arsenal. Without a bent ref, we would have won last time.

For me, and I know I have said this before this season, this is a very average United side, one who probably had their best FOUR performances against Chelsea. Even the game you lost, you were by far the better team for most of the first half.

This game only had one winner from the moment Barca got past Jose. Ferguson did the same thing as he does against us, puts his dogs in midfield, who on this occasion were no match for a elite passing midfield who trianguled through the United midfield at will.

I think you should count yourself very lucky this mob of players managed to win the premiership as they are not the best squad in the premiership and while he continues to benefit by the mismanagement at Chelsea, it has to be said Ferguson has done marvels this season to win the league n have a crack at the CL final.
