| The game is up and running again. I haven't really looked at the site yet, but it looks like they have made some changes.
http://fantasy.premierleague.com/
One of the big changes is with the bonus points, while they still have them they are not down to the whims of the drunken press association. They are based totally on stats. The three best performing players in each match according to the EA SPORTS Player Performance Index will receive additional bonus points.
You can look at the what the EA SPORTS Index is here.
http://www.premierleague.com/page/EAIndex
I believe that the leagues continue and if you were in our league last season you will be this season that's if you play this season. I will try to confirm that.

| You going to play this season Tick?
I am little unsure about Luiz? Good addition to the fantasy team if he plays regularly and I have him in my team as of now. I know he was at the Copa America but Brazil were eliminated early, has Luiz rejoined Chelsea yet and if so has he played in any of their friendlies? Is there really a possibilty he could be used in the Essien role? I don't see it myself with Ramires and Mikel and if Chelsea add Modric, or Pastore the competition for midfield spots gets very crowded.

| I wont be taking part ~ I can just about belly other peoples opinions most of the time, but when it effects my outlook on something, I drives me insane. Fantasy League is total Bollocks, until they stop other peoples opinions having a baring on your score, count me out.

| Maybe you should look at the way they are going to award the bonus points to the three players each game before you decide not to play.
The three players getting bonus points are still there but this year it is based on statistics.
The game uses the EA SPORTS Player Performance Index and there are six calculations which generate the Index.
Calculation 1 – Assesses a player's contribution to a winning team, based on the points won by the team when he has appeared. Calculation 2 – Assesses a player's performance in each game by allocating points for actions that positively contribute to a winning performance, such as shots, tackles, clearances and saves. It also takes points away from players for negative actions such as yellow/red cards, and shots off target. Calculation 3 – Allocates points based on time on the pitch. Calculation 4 – Allocates points for goal scorers. Calculation 5 – Allocates points for assists. Calculation 6 – Allocates points for clean sheets.
I guess you can say it is still subjective because The data is collected by a representative from the Professional Footballers Association (PFA), at every Premiership match.
However, Video footage is then used to verify the information, before the Index is generated and published.
It does look like they are trying to address complaints about the bonus system by using the stats based Index and waiting until 24 hours after the match to award the bonus points.
While it would be better to scrape the bonus points entirely, Hopefully the bonus points will be less subjective and make more sense this season. _________________ |

| This sounds like an excellent system but it can only be really judged when we see which players are winning these points. Worries me that the possibility is that still, the same few players will stand out of this system, in an unfair way.
That said, given the amount of points we score per week, (often upward of 40) 3 bonus points either way has little bearing on the overall score.
Tick should be encouraged to rejoin...its not the same without! |

| There's the top 20 from last year, you can see it is dominated by the top clubs. 70% come from United, Chelsea and City. The more successful the club they play for is a major factor and the dominating player on a poor team such as Adam, Baines and Odemwingie do well also.
Rank Name Team Index Score 1 Florent Malouda Chelsea 661 2 Dimitar Berbatov Man Utd 583 3 Dirk Kuyt Liverpool 563 4 Nemanja Vidic Man Utd 551 5 Carlos Tevez Man City 541 6 Didier Drogba Chelsea 525 7 Vincent Kompany Man City 518 8 Leighton Baines Everton 515 9 Gnegneri Toure Yaya Man City 515 10 Peter Odemwingie West Brom 504 11 Joe Hart Man City 503 12 Petr Cech Chelsea 499 13 Wayne Rooney Man Utd 499 14 John Terry Chelsea 498 15 Brede Hangeland Fulham 496 16 Kevin Nolan Newcastle 488 17 Ashley Cole Chelsea 480 18 Patrice Evra Man Utd 474 19 Luis Nani Man Utd 471 20 Charlie Adam Blackpool 468 _________________ |

| How many people have signed up for this year? Is it about time we started a second league, one of the head to head leagues, so we can have them running side by side?
Might add something extra to the mix?
Something worth thinking about, I understand that you, Red, are the administrator, so something you can look into?
Just a thought. |

The site seems to be having a problem with UK users. At least that is what I am hearing on the fantasy websites. I have no problem getting in. The head to head league wont start until everyone is in it. two or three weeks from now I would guess. Right now I am in the only one in the head to head and I am not going to play head to head with myself._________________ |
