Have to say last nights game was very enjoyable and predictably, Sky have made us all suffer many repeats n over exaggerated how wonderful the new Man Utd players are.

I thought Spurs held United with ease in the first half and just forgot how to defend in the 2nd. Kaboul took ball watching to a new level for the first goal and as I have stated before, any defence that allows little Rooney to score with a header, has to be graded as poor. The middle goal was a real classic.

Then we come to Spurs not being able to get past the line about the new man u keeper, that he is dodgy from long range shots. The amount of times Van der wots his name n Defoe wasted counter attacks on long range efforts was criminal. The young united defence were giving so much ground to Spurs counter attacks that a bit more time on the ball would sure have produced better opportunities to score.

Still with all that said the result was exactly as you would expect when you take in Spurs record at Old Trafford. United looked ok, but nothing to worry about just yet. Spurs will not trouble the top four, with or without Modric.

Lastly the biggest thing to strike me about last nights game was poor Carlo Cudicini. He is better than both those keepers ahead of him and needs to escape before the window closes.

That was a real even game for 60 minutes. Spurs gave as good as they got. The opening goal changed things, after that it was just a matter of time before United added to their tally. Spurs seemed drop their heads and were forced to open up even more than they had done in what had been a very wide open game.

The amount of long shots by Spurs was funny, it was like they had read the papers about de Gea being vulnerable on long shots. It affected how the Spurs players thought when attacking United, it messed up their usual plan and style of play, which in turn worked for United's advantage in the end.

The other thing was Spurs ran out of gas around the 70 minute mark. Was that because it was their first game or is there a question of fitness at Spurs?
