| Manchester City reach an agreement with Arsenal to sign Samir Nasri, with Nasri set to discuss personal terms before completing his move to Eastlands.
Supposedly the deal is for £25M, and when added to the Fabregas money, Arsenal's has around £60M to spend.
Rumours linking Arsenal to Lille midfielder Eden Hazard, Rennes midfielder Yann M’Vila, Lazio striker Mauro Zarate and Everton defender Phil Jagielka. If Arsenal can bring in these four players, Arsenal will have a much improved squad from what we have seen from the first few games this year.
How many of these players will Wenger sign? I have heard that most if not all of them are waiting on the result of Arsenal game with Udinese on Wednesday. No Champions League for Arsenal and it's doubtful if any of them would consider joining Arsenal.
That is going to be one high game for Arsenal on Wednesday. _________________ |

| As I said in a previous post. Mr. Wenger has till the end of this window to spend some of that pot of gold and I think that is the single most interesting thing between now n closure of the window.

| Alot of top young talents coming to the Premier League, which is great. If they can get Hazard then they have a real gem of a player. He is a fantastic talent. How decent is Belgiums team looking for the next few years? With the likes of Lukaku, Kompany, Vermaelen, Courtois, Vertonghen, Witsel, Alderweireld, Defour... All look like potential brilliant players, and a few are there already with the likes of the centre backs and Fellaini in midfield. Anyway, sorry for going off topic, just got me thinking. |

That's a good point. The Swiss and Mexico to name a couple are other teams with a lot of young talent. Doesn't look good for England's chances regarding wining a World Cup. You could make a thread in the International section. _________________ |

| If reports saying Arsenal only offered £6m, plus extras, for Gary Cahill are true, you have to wonder if Wenger is serious about spending any of the money Arsenal received for the players they have sold this summer. _________________ |

| Does seem a cheap offer, but they said on the radio it would rise to well over 10 million once certain criteria has been met. |

| Wenger's still pissing around inquiring about loans deals for the likes of Lucho Gonzalez and Marvin Martin and even Kaka. Why would their clubs loan out good players like that? Just seems his heart is not into adding the type of players everyone says Arsenal need. Arsenal need to buy good experienced players and make a positive statement to their fans. Must be frustrating as all hell to be an Arsenal fan. _________________ |

So how does Arsenal's spending stack up?
Park Chu-young (Monaco, £3m-5m*), Andre Santos (Fenerbahce, £6.2m*), Per Mertesacker (Werder Bremen, £8m*), Yossi Benayoun (Chelsea, season loan), Mikel Arteta (Everton, £10million).

| I dont think he has done too badly - Arteta signing is a very good one. Still a lot building work and needs to spend more, but after all they've had to deal with this transfer window and season too far, he has done a bit of work even with his reluctance to buy big. |

| I don't think they have done too bad either. I am not big on Mertesacker and no nothing about Santos so I am not sure he has improved his defense or not. But Park has lots of energy and has scored well in France. Benayoun is also very energetic and with Park will track back and help to recover the ball, where in the past, once they lost possession they weren't the best at getting the ball back. Arteta could be a good signing, I like him as a player and usually have him in my fantasy teams at some point, but he does spend a lot of time injured. I wonder if he will end up with more minutes on the bench than on the pitch similar to Fabregas the last couple of seasons.
Plus they got rid of Bendtner, the man with the worse goals scored to chances ratio in the world. _________________ |
