Subject: Fenerbahce out of Europe Wed Aug 24, 2011 7:07 pm
Turkey's Football Federation has withdrawn national champions Fenerbahce from the Champions League because of an ongoing match-fixing investigation.
On Thursday the Turkish side were due to join 32 elite European clubs in the draw for the Champions League group stage being held in Monaco at 1645 BST.
It is unclear how Uefa will replace Fenerbahce, who are suspected of fixing matches to win the Turkish title.
Runners-up Trabzonspor have also been implicated in the match-fixing probe.
I have heard that Liverpool apparently have the highest coefficient of teams not in Europe already.
If Liverpool are in that will give England 5 spots, not sure that is allowed so I believe that Arsenal have to lose.

Also hearing that if Arsenal lose to Udinese then Arsenal will be allowed in because they have the highest coefficient of teams not in Europe, or the Turks may appoint another team. I guess we will find out tomorrow.
