Former England keeper Chris Kirkland has joined Doncaster of the Championship. Once there was talk of Kirkland being England's regular keeper, now he's loaned out to a club just up from league One. I guess injuries over the years have played a role in his downfall but that's big drop in his career prospects.

Looks like Kirkland will be remember more for his father and some family friends placing bets of £100 each at 100/1 odds that he would play for England before the age of thirty. Kirkland's one appearance for England netted the syndicate £10,000 each.
