So I read today on the very reliable BBC sport website that due to Sion fielding ineligible players in the Europa League, not only were they ejected from the competition...but FIFA have ruled that if the Swiss FA do not punish Sion themselves, all Swiss teams risk being ejected from Europe.
FC Basel would be one of the clubs punished in this way, paving a way back for Man United who would replace them. How wonderful right?

Absolutely not. We had our chance, we blew it. I would be disgusted at the thought of replacing deserved competitors because of the act another team committed.

If this ruling was to take place however, what a wonderful opportunity it would be for the big teams to show some sportsmanship. Manchester United back in the Champions League, raking in the revenue. Split it. 50/50 with FC Basel. They deserve it more than we do, sure a bit of revenue for what we might have made in Europa, probably a lot more in fact, but what the money would be to Basel...

Not a chance of that of course, but why cant someone else in power think of it?

Because if they did, they wouldnt be in power. Football is massive business. You don't give away money.
