| Hey, I dont know about you, but when I heard Scholes had returned I could not stop myself from laughing. I think this shows exactly where United are just now as a club. With that said....... Pick a game for Scholes to be sent off Saturday, 14 January 2012 Barclays Premier League Man Utd v Bolton, 15:00 Sunday, 22 January 2012 Barclays Premier League Arsenal v Man Utd, 16:00 I CHOOSE THIS GAME Saturday, 28 January 2012 The FA Cup with Budweiser Liverpool v Man Utd, R4, 15:00 Tuesday, 31 January 2012 Barclays Premier League Man Utd v Stoke, 20:00 Sunday, 5 February 2012 Barclays Premier League Chelsea v Man Utd, 16:00 Saturday, 11 February 2012 Barclays Premier League Man Utd v Liverpool, 12:45 Thursday, 16 February 2012 UEFA Europa League Ajax v Man Utd, 32, L1, 18:00 Thursday, 23 February 2012 UEFA Europa League Man Utd v Ajax, 32, L2, 20:05 Sunday, 26 February 2012 Barclays Premier League Norwich v Man Utd, 13:30 |

| I must admit personally I'm quite interested, I always thought he had a little left but I don't know now he's been out for half a season...I think however it is EXACTLY what United need to give the youngsters a kick up the ass....a player with a real passion and fire for the club like which is only maintained by Giggs. I think that was the more important factor in bringing him back as many of the youngsters who have great potential just haven't stepped up to the mark.
That being said if we don't buy at least ONE quality player in this window I will have lost a lot of confidence for the future of the club, because if they don't think we need it...or it's worth it now, then i might start getting used to some mid-table playing! |

| We won't buy in the window. Ad that doesnt mean there's no future in the club.
We arent held to ransom by ridiculous prices at a bad time of the year for signing players.
If we cant win trophies this year with the squad we have already, then so be it. It will have to be next season.
Scholes is there to fill a gap caused by shocking injuries. He is a cheap and obvious option as he will be on a pay per play deal, will not mind sitting on the bench when players get fit and will be a good presence in the dressing room. Hardly reasons for you to be laughing at Tick.
Its the perfect signing for a club with injury issues who do not do business in January. There is no quality available unless you part with ridiculous sums of money. Chelsea, for example, may well be willing to be business in January only to sign a second rate defender, but we will prefer to wait until season end...until quality becomes available. (I'll have egg on my face if Utd hijack the move though)
January window....you either overpay or buy mediocre talent. |

| Cahill is a 2nd rate? Can you confirm that? cause the word is, if United could afford the wages, they would be in for him. Truth be told ~ Arsenal Tottenham and United have all enquired and have been put off by the agents stance on wages. Please advise which United centre half, apart from Vidic, is better than Cahill? Scholes situation is very amusing ~ I have never rated him as a player and think he is the most overated player of the past 15 years. Ferguson has gone out of his way to say you cant get top players in the Jan window. Well forgive me for pointing out, Manchester United, so called best supported club with the biggest home ground, couldnt get a top notch player to replace Scholes in the summer! For me, that's SAF spinning the media with bended truths and I might suggest, the players they want, dont want to come to United. Hey, forgive me for pointing out, you have been saddled with a 2nd, maybe 3rd rate keeper you got in the summer (the good window) cause a German didnt fancy you. Anyway, the return of Scholes is wonderful and come on, dont be shy, punt away on the game he gets sent off in |

I think that line there sums up everything. Better than most English midfielders there were in his prime, and even past his prime still was a wonderful talent, with a talent passing and vision rivalled by very few. It's nice as a Utd fan to see a player like Scholes return to the squad and I look forward to seeing his effects on the pitch especially what they have on the other players. I was disappointed to see him retire and think he still has a lot to give, though this season of course definately will be his last. |

Hey I am not alone in thinking this ~ Red, please be so good to repeat what you said about Scholes on his retirement. |

| Hah I've been saying the same on another forum. After these awards he received with G Nev last night i said Scholes was a great player but overrated. To be mentioned in the same breath as Zidane and Iniesta is quite laughable. He wasn't that good was he? And to say he was the greatest Premiership player ever is laughable... Giggs, Shearer, Henry would all easily be above Scholes. And probably quite a few more.. |
