Huddersfield Town have sacked manager Lee Clark and his coaching staff.
The 39-year-old former Newcastle United and Fulham midfielder had been in charge of the League One club since December 2008.

On the surface this sounds really surprising. Clark's tenure at Huddersfield has been highly successful. 43 game unbeaten run to get out of League Two. Reached the play-off final of League One last year and currently sitting fourth in League One this year.

The only thing I can see is he is being considered for the Leeds job and has indicated that he wants to move on from Huddersfield.

If he does take the Leeds job and gets them into the Premier in a few years, Clark maybe one manager to keep an idea on in the future.

Like you Red, I truly do not understand this decision. Clark is a young manager who over the past 3 n a bit years has proven to play a great style of football with a successful result at the end of most seasons.

Good point on the Leeds situation, although I understand Batesy is keen on another ex Chelsea manager. Plenty to choose from.
