Here we go from the opening round of the Champions League 2008\09

Below you will find the first round and 2nd round draw for the Champions league qualification.

You are asked to predict who will win each tie.

Once you have done the first round, you must take in the 2nd round draw baring in mind who you have predicted would get into that round.

Then once you have done that, you are to predict who will win the 2nd round ties.

Once the 3rd round draw is made public.... you will be again asked to update your predictions.

Scoring System.
Teams who are seeded to play in the first round and win through 10points per round.

Teams who are seeded to play in the second round and win through 6points per round

Teams who are seeded to play in the third round and win through 2points.

All entrys MUST be in by the 14th of July as the thread will be locked there after.

When you talk about teams who are seeded, by seeded do you mean involved in the round, or is one team seeded in each game, say for example Linfield v Dynamo Zagreb with Zagreb being seeded?

This is crap shoot. I have only heard of about a third of those teams in the first qualifying round. I am afraid I had to rely on the odds that the bookies where posting. Some of these teams are a hell of long shots. FC Santa Coloma is 1/9 at home to win the first game, how bad are they. We could probably pick at team from the website and give them a game. Little better in the 2nd qualifying round, at least I have heard of all the teams.

13 out of 14 that's pretty good. I think I stumbled on to a new betting strategy. Only bet on games where I know nothing about the teams involved and if I have never heard of the teams, even better.

1st leg results for the 2nd round of games...... Oops Rangers

Shocked by Rapid Vienna getting beat 3-0, but I guess you have to stop thinking in the past. A once famous big club playing a little Cyprus club, but I think we all messed up on that one.

As for Rangers, I listen to the second half on a radio link, and Rangers were all over them. 0-0 some times is not a bad result, if they capitalize on one of their chances in Lithuanian, than Kaunas has to score twice. Rangers are still in with a shout.
