| Been out of the game for a while with a broken laptop and have found it interesting reading what you guys have written. Much of what I would have said has been said already.
One thing that occurs to me, is that though many have been critical of the ref, it seems to be focussed on everything that went against Chelsea. Just to play devils advocate, I'd like to look at the other side of the coin.
Barcas red card? They were also denied a penalty in the first leg? And Chelseas penalty shouts were not all "stone wall" shouts. I felt maybe one of the four had a pretty good case.
The referee was abysmal of course, but I dont think this all went against Chelsea. It is always easy to scroll through your injustices when you go out. |

| Eric Abidal's red card was a joke, there wasn't much contact with Anelka. The Barcelona penalty you refer to, was that when Henry was pulled down in the box? That could have a been a penalty.
The Pique hand ball was a definite penalty, the shot off Eto at the end hit his arm pit and he had his back turned so I didn't think that was a penalty.
The other two were close. Eric Abidal's tug on Didier Drogba, he pulled him and was holding on to his shirt. Drogba didn't help himself by going down easily and rolling around, but that probably should have been called. Dani Alves's tackle on Florent Malouda, the foul started outside the box and carried on inside the area. Not sure when the ref blew the whistle or whether the free kick takes place where the foul began or where it ended. But that could have easily been called as well. _________________ |

They could try and single out each player they have deemed to have over stepped the mark Like Ballack and Drogba or just say "failure to control players on the pitch and off" - or even both. UEFA have said they will take any action they feel necessary and give an answer as early as tomorrow.
I think Drogba will get named, and I reckon Ballack will too for his hounding of the ref - and I will be surprised if they dont take any action against the club too. |

| I think action must be taken and it will be sufficient bans and fines for players and club alike. Such bans and fines will be 100% deserved for the behaviour, but that said, any supporter of the game or anyone who has played the game will understand the players reactions.
It cant be condoned and must be punished, but it is understandable. They are only human after all. If that is the price you pay for a bit of passion, then so be it. |

| I hope both said players are banned for 6 games each - that will help make the clubs mind up on their Chelsea future. This might just be a blessing in disguise .............. Catch my drift? |

| I think Drogba will be banned from the Champions league for all of next year. Ballack could probably get 3 or 4 games. Don't believe any of the other Chelsea players will be in trouble, but you never know. I imagine the club will get a fine for not controlling their players or their fans.
But I see the blessing in disguise, since neither Drogba or Ballack maybe back with Chelsea next year. _________________ |

| I'll be surprised if they got a year long ban. Uefa and Fifa are never give out strong punishments, always threatening to do things and never following through. A few game ban each and a fine will probably be what comes out. And I bet the fine will really stretch Romans purse strings... |

| Someone pointed out on Chelsea TV that the Ref Booked Drogba while he was going into one after the game.
If thats true - and I believe it is - Drogba can say he has already been dealt with.
Now if The Man Utd player cant appeal his red card - cause the Ref has dealt with it - isnt Drogba the same? |

| Just wanted to post this little episode from the night of Norways blindness.
After the game - Once John Terry was suited in his Chelsea match day Blazer ect - he went into the Barcelona dressing room n shook hands with all the players wishing them well for the final.
The Barca players were so taken aback by his actions that they sung his name as a group.
So proud that guy is ours. |

Not unless he is done for his verbal tirade at the camera, which (I think) went unpunished and was after his yellow card - atleast UEFA can say they're using video evidence for that, lol.
If they are reported as two sepearte incidents, then he will be punished - rumour has it that the ref has been told to re-write his post match report. |

It definitely showed a lot of class, something for which Terry has not been noted for in the past._________________ |

Could have something to do with the bad coverage. English tabloids love to trash their own.
I will say I have seen a change in Terry this year, not sure if it is Capello's influence and the real or imagined threat of losing the England captaincy. You have not seen the thuggery on the pitch or the badgering of officials and the negatives that brought into question his fitness for the England job this season. Going into the Barcelona dressing room and congratulating them after they lost in the manner they did, is quite incredible really. I am sure he didn't do that in Moscow last year and doubt whether he could have done it. This season he seems to be showing more maturity and professionalism than I thought he was capable of. May have to change my opinion of him if he keeps it up._________________ |

He hasnt changed at all - what has changed is your team is now winning - n he no longer becomes the hate figure for u and your fellow supporters caused by jealousy of being 2nd best. |
